About Kiss Your Brain

Kiss Your Brain was founded by Isabel after years of teaching in the New York City charter school system. When she left the classroom in 2019, she knew one thing for certain: she wasn't done working with children. What began as a few tutoring sessions in a Brooklyn coffee shop quickly grew-three students became ten, ten became twenty, then forty, then sixty. Almost without realizing it, Kiss Your Brain was born.

At KYB, learning is something to celebrate. When a student takes a risk, puts in real effort, or answers a question correctly, you'll hear us cheer, "Kiss your brain!" That joy is at the heart of everything we do.

Our lessons are intentionally designed to meet students where they are. Whether a student is applying geometry skills by designing their own restaurant, creating a research project on a favorite animal, or starting a book club with their tutor, we pair each child's interests with strong academic fundamentals. This personalized, student-centered approach helps build confidence, curiosity, and real academic growth.

Over time, many of our students find themselves reading above grade level, gaining independence as learners, or qualifying for advanced academic programs.
